Backend engineer focused on reliable production systems
I'm a backend-focused software engineer with nearly three years of experience building and scaling a multi-tenant healthcare care-coordination platform. Hospital systems use it to manage patient engagement across the surgical and orthopedic care journey. I started by delivering individual features and grew into owning the end-to-end design of core subsystems: patient journey automation, EHR integrations, and outcomes analytics. On a multi-country online tutoring platform (FastAPI and PostgreSQL backend, Next.js dashboard, Flutter app), I owned the hard, unglamorous parts: money, concurrency, identity, and messaging. I also spent a year (2023–2024) as a backend engineer on Sokkat, a UAE-based e-commerce mobile app, building Node.js APIs on top of Shopify and PostgreSQL.
Build
Backend architecture, APIs, and background-job systems that run reliably in production.
Integrate
EHR systems through FHIR/HL7, Twilio SMS and voice, Auth0, and LLM services.
Harden
Multi-tenancy, consent, idempotency, and fallbacks built into the structure of the system.
How I work
Root cause, not symptom
I trace a reported bug back to the shared code path every caller goes through and fix it there.
Make critical rules structural
Tenancy, consent, and quiet hours are enforced at one layer, not re-checked in every feature.
Decouple slow work
Messaging and integrations run as idempotent background jobs, so failures retry safely and never block a workflow.
Roll out in phases
Feature flags and per-tenant enablement, so changes can be rolled back without a redeploy.
Prove the safety claims
Tests run on the real database engine, and mutation tests show a lock or guard actually prevents the failure.
Keep humans in the loop
AI goes where it's safe. Where patient safety is involved, a person reviews the output.
